Post-911 Surveillance Within Current Government
[ send me this essay ]
14 pages in length. The advent of computer technology is, in and of itself, a positive move toward overall advancement, but the loss of individual privacy has come to represent a high price paid for such progress. As far as government infiltration is concerned, it has reached the point where bureaucratic functions have come to override individual rights insofar as these functions are presumed to serve the common good. Giving no consideration to the individual himself, whatever efforts necessary to obtain the desired information will be put forth; as long as this information is being used to help bring criminals to justice or thwart the crime to begin with, the answer is yes. In the meantime, there is no division between lawbreakers and the general public, as all are being lumped together in a mass of databases, with the rise of post-911 surveillance reflecting one of the most significant examples of this growing reality. Postwar Acceleration And Slowdown Of Growth
[ send me this essay ]
12 pages in length. In a perfect world, there would be no war. However, inasmuch as this is far from being a perfect world, the aspect of war carries with it many seemingly unrelated advantages to help fortify economic and political standing. What typically occurs at the end of war is a combination of growth acceleration and slowdown as societies attempt to piece their communities back together. The writer discusses how after all the carnage is assessed, countries can look forward to a stronger economy and a renewed sense of stability; however, at the same time there also exists a breakdown in this growth process that requires a major jump-start. Bibliography lists 9 sources.

Power in Modern Government:
[ send me this essay ]
This 5 page report discusses issues
related to power in both government and society. It is important to understand that the concept of power is most often one that must be thought of as fundamentally subjective. What one person or unique group of people perceives as power may have little
